Mojave Moon
Brown colt by Singspiel out of Moon Cactus
Hey there! I was born on 5 February 2006. I live with a foster mare called Hannah as my mum died when I was born. Her name was Moon Cactus and she was a very good racehorse and is also the mother of one of the stallions who lives here at Dalham, Doyen.
Hannah looks after me very well, as you can see! She doesn't look like the other mums as she isn't a thoroughbred. There are lots of mares like her on the farm ready to look after us if anything happens to our real mums.
On 8 August, it was time for me to leave Hannah and move to a new field with some other foals. This is called being weaned. I missed her at first, but I am happy now and love galloping around the field with my new friends.
In the photo, you can see me saying hello to Cassie, one of the people who helps to look after me.

Here I am in February 2007 running around with my friends.
On 1 January, I officially turned one - it's when all racehorses have their birthdays and I am now known as a yearling. At the moment, I'm living at White Lodge Stud, just a few miles from where I was born.

| Mojave Moon has now completed his pre-training with Darley in Newmarket and has moved to Chantilly in France to be trained by top trainer Andre Fabre. Mr Fabre also trained Mojave Moon’s very successful half-brother Doyen, who is now a Darley stallion, in the early part of the horse’s career before he moved back to England to race for Sheikh Mohammed’s Godolphin stable. |
