First round of online auctions in Europe conclude

Final chance to bid next week

The hammer fell on the first round of Darley’s Bid For Glory auctions earlier today and attracted strong interest from bidders with all stallions achieving prices close to or in excess of their advertised stud fees.

The final bids were £45,500 for the nomination to Exceed And Excel, £17,000 for Farhh, €29,500 for Iffraaj, £100,000 for New Approach (pictured), €10,000 for Reckless Abandon and €50,000 for Teofilo.

Sam Bullard, Darley’s Director of Stallions said, “We would like to thank everyone who participated in our first series of online auctions in Europe and congratulate the winning bidders. There has been a lot of interest and the majority of bidders were established clients, so it is particularly pleasing that they have embraced this new means of purchasing nominations and look forward to the second and final series of the year which will run next week.

“A number of the winning bidders have been in touch and were delighted to be successful in acquiring nominations to the stallions of their choice which otherwise they might not have had access to.”

There is one more series of auctions, offering one nomination to each of the aforementioned stallions, starting next Wednesday (18th December) at 9am. Potential bidders can register via this website, using the registration form on the Bid For Glory pages.
