Further Stakes success for Bici Bici

2yo daughter of Authorized takes the Calidran Stakes in style

Two-year-old Authorized filly Bici Bici has been a remarkably consistent performer for her sire and on 12 October recorded her second straight Stakes win and fifth win overall when taking the one-mile Calidran Stakes in Istanbul (a local G1 contest).

Setted off the early pace, Bici Bici was asked to quicken once the field entered the home straight and responded brilliantly, sweeping past the early leaders to win by a length and a half.

Bred by Dicle Kim.Dep.Paz.Nak, she is out of winning Bertolini mare Bellini Rose, herself a daughter of G2 winner Prospectress and from the family of G1 winner Nizon.

Authorized has sired no fewer than 20 Black type performers this year, including Ambivalent, who has added another Group win and G1 places to her impressive record in 2014, plus Japanese Stakes winner Bande (third in last year’s Japanese St Leger) who is currently preparing for a tilt at the Melbourne Cup.
