More Stakes glory for Authorized

Toruk Macto stylishly lands his second successive Listed race

Toruk Macto, a son of Authorized and one of Turkey’s leading three-year-olds, landed his second successive Stakes race on Sunday August 5, when taking the Listed Mimar Sinan over 2200m at Istanbul. Now the winner of six of his nine starts, he had previously finished third in the Turkish 2,000 Guineas before easily winning his first Stakes race at Ankara.

Bred by Tinnakill Bloodstock Limited and Alan Byrne, Toruk Macto is the third winner out of the G3-winning Gone West mare Mythical Girl, who has been tested in foal again to Authorized this season. His granddam Yousefia is a full sister to Green Desert.

Toruk Macto is one of three Stakes winners for Authorized in the past fortnight, after Tenenbaum remained unbeaten in 2012 when taking the Prix de Reux at Deauville and juvenile Castello Aragonese landed his second Stakes victory in Italy. The sire of 33 three-year-old winners this season, Authorized boasts a significantly higher winner to runner strike rate than any other British or Irish second-crop stallion in 2012.
