New G1 winner for Iffraaj

Benvenue wins the Gran Premio di Milano in Italy

Iffraaj sired his fourth individual G1 winner on Sunday June 8 when his second crop son Benvenue won the Gran Premio di Milano over a mile and a half in Italy. He has now won five of his 18 starts and today's victory was his second at Stakes level.

Bred in Ireland by Curtasse SAS, Benvenue is the out of the Be My Guest mare Guest Harbour who was rated the Champion older mare in Italy in 1994. Guest Harbour has bred 10 winners so far with Benvenue the only one at to win at Stakes level.

Benvenue is one of nine G1 horses sired by Iffraaj. In his first year he had Champion juvenile Wootton Bassett while his fourth crop is his best yet with two G1-winning juveniles in Chriselliam and Rizeena as well as Hot Streak, who recently won the G2 Temple Stakes and is rated the leading three-year-old Sprinter in Europe. His fifth crop, who are from his best ever book of mares, are currently juveniles and already include three impressive winners.
