New Stakes winner for Authorized

Battalion takes Listed Churchill Stakes

Twice placed at Group level previously, Authorized’s son Battalion gained a well-deserved first Black Type win on 15 November when sweeping home to land the Churchill Stakes at Lingfield.

Settled in midfield under Tom Queally, William Haggas’s charge began to quicked once entering the final furlong and picked up impressively to win the ten-furlong contest by a length and a half and record his fifth career victory.

Bred by Kildaragh Stud, Battalion is out of the Halling mare Zigarra, a half-sister to four Stakes performers including multiple G2 winner Silent Name. They are from the family of Champion Gold Away.

Authorized , who will stand at Haras du Logis at a fee of €10,000 (October 1st SLF) next year, has sired five individual Group winners this year and two who have been placed at G1 level.
