New Stakes winner for New Approach

Majestic Jasmine wins the Listed Grosser Preis der Volksbank in Germany

Darley stallions enjoyed an excellent day in Germany on Monday June 9 as Majestic Jasmine (a four-year-old filly by New Approach) became the second Stakes winner in the space of just under an hour. Magic Artist (Iffraaj) got the ball rolling when winning the G3 Bavarian Classic at Munich (beating Majestic Jasmine's paternal half-brother Speedy Approach) and with action switching to Hannover, Majestic Jasmine put in a tremendous late run to win the Listed Grosser Preis der Volksbank.

Starting her career under the tutelage of John Oxx in Ireland where she was victorious three times, this was her second career start for Andreas Wohler and her first victory at Stakes level.

Bred by Rabbah and owned by Jaber Abdullah, Majestic Jasmine is out of the G1-winning mare Majestic Roi (by Street Cry) winner of the Sun Chariot Stakes as a three-year-old. Majestic Roi also has a two-year-old filly named Majestic Manner who is in training with William Haggas.

Majestic Jasmine is the ninth Stakes winner to come from New Approach's excellent first crop that includes Classic winners Dawn Approach and Talent. Other notable performers include Dante Stakes winner and close Derby second Libertarian and Group winners Cap O'Rushes, Newfangled and Sultanina.
