New Stakes winner for Teofilo

Chance To Dance lands Listed Carlingford Stakes

Teofilo added a new Stakes winner on 17 October when his four-year-old son Chance To Dance was awarded the Listed Carlingford Stakes, run over ten and a half furlongs at Dundalk.

Settled close to the pace under Kevin Manning, Jim Bolger’s homebred was in third place as the field entered the final furlong and having been carried right close to home, crossed the finish line a head behind Obliterator and was subsequently awarded the race in the stewards’ room.

Unraced until this year, this was his sixth career victory. He finished third in the G3 Enterprise Stakes at Leopardstown last month and was second in the Listed Finale Stakes on his previous start.

Chance To Dance is out of the Royal Academy mare Crystal Ballet, herself a half-sister to Champion three-year-old and multiple G1 winner Rodrigo de Triano.

Teofilo has now sired 12 Black type winners this year, including G1 winner Sonntag, plus Tarfasha and Tobann, both of whom have been placed at the highest level in 2014.
