Open house at Dalham Hall Stud

See in the new year with a visit to the Darley stallions on 9 or 10 January

We’re delighted to invite breeders to our open days at Dalham Hall Stud on Wednesday, 9 or Thursday, 10 January 2013.

Twelve of the British- and Irish-based Darley sires will be on show throughout the two days, including the champion first-season sire of 2012, New Approach. The son of Galileo has just returned from Australia, where, just as in Europe, his very first runner was a winner.

Also on the recent return trip from the southern hemisphere were two exciting new additions to the European roster – Sepoy and Helmet.

Sepoy, like exciting young sire Raven's Pass, is a son of Elusive Quality and he will stand at Dalham Hall Stud in 2013, while his fellow Australian-bred, Helmet, will be based at Kildangan Stud in County Kildare, but will be on show in Newmarket for the open days, as will his sire, the ever popular Exceed And Excel.

Joining Helmet from the Kildangan roster is Iffraaj, the sire of G2 Ladies’ Mile winner Fix in New Zealand over the Christmas holidays, and G1 Racing Post Trophy winner Casamento, another new stallion for 2013 who will stand at stud alongside his sire Shamardal.

Among the Dalham Hall regulars on parade will be Dubawi, now the sire of nine individual Group 1 winners, which include his fellow Darley stallion Poet's Voice, who is about to embark on his second season at stud.

Kheleyf notched an incredible 42 individual two-year-old winners in 2012 – equalling the all-time European record – and he will also be available for viewing, as will another Derby winner, Authorized, the popular veteran Halling, and Shirocco, whose Group Two-winning daughter Wild Coco was one of the star turns at Tattersalls’ December Sale when selling for 985,000gns.

Shows will take place each day at 11.30am, 1.30pm and 3pm. Please call the nominations team on 01638 730070 if you require any further information.
