Darley stallions well represented in the recently released World Thoroughbred Rankings

Darley stallions were well represented when the World Thoroughbred Rankings were released on Tuesday January 10.

Heading the list with eight entries was Dubawi (pictured), with Dubai World Cup place-getter Monterosso his highest rated on 121. Also featured amongst his European crops were Worthadd (rated 120), who was Italy’s Champion older horse and Miler and Waldpark (116), the Champion three-year-old colt in Germany. Hong Kong Sprint winner Luck Or Design (racing as Lucky Nine) was given a rating of 118, whilst Dubawi Gold and Dubawi Heights both were on 117. Also featuring was new Dalham Hall stallion Poet’s Voice, who was on 115. With six three-year-olds rated 115+, Dubawi had more entries in this category than any other stallion.

Fellow Dalham Hall stallion Exceed And Excel was represented by the Australian Champion Helmet, rated their leading three-year-old colt over a mile, and Excelebration, who with a rating of 126 was only behind Frankel amongst all three-year-old colts.

Shamardal was responsible for a brace of Champions, with Zazou (118) being Germany’s Champion older horse and Crackerjack King (117) the leading Italian three-year-old. Cape Cross, who like Shamardal stands at Kildangan Stud, had three progeny in the list headed by the recent evergreen G1-winner Able One.

Slickly, who stands at Haras du Logis, was represented by Meandre, who after winning the G1 Grand Prix de Paris was the leading three-year-old in France with a rating of 122, whilst Slickly’s barn-mate King’s Best had one of Japan’s leading older horses, Eishin Flash (120). Refuse To Bend, who will stand at Haras du Logis for the first time this season, sired the French-trained Sarafina, who landed the G1 Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud back in June and was rated 121.

Although his first-crop will only race for the first time this season, Raven’s Pass’ profile was given a boost through his sire, Darley America’s Elusive Quality. He was responsible for the World’s best three-year-old Sprinter in Sepoy, who with a rating of 123 was the highest Australian three-year-old ever on the World Thoroughbred Rankings.
