Parish Hall adds another Group victory to his record

Teofilo’s G1-winning son runs out the game winner of the Diamond Stakes

Teofilo has been enjoying a fantastic year so far, both on the racecourse – where he has sired three individual G1 winners, and in the sales ring – this week he averaged an impressive €155,000 at the Goffs Orby Sale.

On 3 October, his talented son Parish Hall recorded his second Group victory and third at Black type level with victory in the ten-furlong G3 Diamond Stakes at Dundalk.

Settled in second position behind market leader Afonso de Sousa, Parish Hall was asked to quicken by jockey Kevin Manning as the field turned for home and the four-year-old colt kept to his task superbly to win by a length and a quarter.

Owned, bred and trained by Jim Bolger, Parish Hall is out of the winning Montjeu mare Halla Siamsa, herself a half-sister to another of Teofilo’s Group-winning sons in Light Heavy.

Teofilo is also sire this year of Irish Derby winner Trading Leather, Prix Jean Prat winner Havana Gold; plus Voleuse de Coeurs, who landed the G1 Irish St Leger last month and is now being aimed at the Melbourne Cup.
