Rafeej a convincing new Stakes winner for Iffraaj

Lands the Listed Garhoud Sprint by over three lengths at Meydan

Iffraaj entire Rafeej got his UAE racing season off to a perfect start on 18 December when running out the easy winner of the Listed Garhoud Sprint, run over six furlongs at Meydan.

This was the fifth career win for Sheikh Hamdan’s runner, who was unbeaten as a two-year-old when trained by Mark Johnston.

He was bred by Whatton Manor Stud and is out of the winning mare Muffled, also dam of Exceed And Excel’s useful juvenile filly Excello – who was third in the Windsor Castle Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Rafeej’s victory rounds off a very successful year for Iffraaj, who has sired three G1 winners in 2014 including Coronation Stakes heroine Rizeena, plus a further 22 Black type performers. He is standing at Dalham Hall Stud in 2015 at a fee of £22,500 October 1st SLF.
