Shamardal's Puissance De Lune easily wins Flemington G3

Shamardal's son Puissance De Lune romps to victory in G3 Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Flemington

Shamardal’s Irish-bred son Puissance De Lune strolled to a five-length success in the G3 Queen Elizabeth Stakes (12-1/2f) at Flemington.

Puissance De Lune won the Listed Bendigo Cup (12f) emphatic fashion on October 31 before repeating the effort with a similarly dominant performance at Flemington.

The grey entire raced closed to the speed before showing terrific acceleration with two furlongs travel to score untroubled for his trainer Darren Weir.

Puissance De Lune started his career as part of the Damien de Watrigant stable in France before Australian bloodstock agent Robert Roulston paid 90,000 euros for him on behalf current owner Gerry Ryan for the five-year-old at the 2011 Arqana Arc Sale.

Puissance De Lune’s dam Princess Serena won over a mile during her racing days but her son could become a Melbourne Cup contender in 2013.

Puissance De Lune is one of 18 stakes winners sired by Shamardal in 2012. Shamardal stands at Darley’s Kildangan Stud operation in Ireland.
