Simply dashing

Shamardal's consistent stayer strikes first Stakes success

Shamardashing, by Shamardal, registered his first Black type success on 12 July, claiming the Listed Grafton Cup in Australia.

It was worthy reward for this ultra-consistent gelding as he travelled wide and up on the speed throughout and still managed to out-stay the opposition to win by over a length on the line.

Bred by Distinct Racing & Breeding Pty Ltd in Western Australia, Shamardashing has now won eight of his thirty starts and amassed in excess of $300,000 in prize money for owner, Patinack Farm.

Shamardashing had recently finished fourth in three G3 races over the Brisbane carnival. Shamardashing is out of the Nomrood mare Beaux Art and becomes her third individual Stakes winner joining G3 winner Proart and the Listed winner Imaginaire who won the WA St Leger.

Shamardal is the sire of seven individual G1 winners and has now sired nine individual Black type winners so far this year, including G1-winning duo Sagawara (who won the Prix Saint-Alary) and Crackerjack King, winner of Premio Presidente della Repubblica.
