Tenth winner for New Approach

Personal Approach wins over a mile in Milan

Personal Approach became the tenth winner for his first-season sire New Approach when landing the 1600m maiden at San Siro on Wednesday.

The Irish-bred colt is out of the Rahy mare My Personal Space, a winner at two herself and already dam of two black-type horses, the multiple winners Galidon and Raggiante, plus the dual juvenile winner Axa Reim, by Cape Cross.

Personal Approach, who is trained by Stefano Botti, was bought by Effevi SNC at last year’s SGA Sale in Milan for €105,000, while his half-brother by Teofilo was knocked down at Goffs last month for €170,000.

New Approach, who stands at Dalham Hall Stud in Newmarket, is also the sire of the unbeaten G1 Dewhurst Stakes winner Dawn Approach, who is favourite for next year’s 2,000 Guineas.
