Dubai Prince lands the Strensall Stakes

Son of Shamardal records his second Black type win

Dubai Prince, a four-year-old son of Shamardal, returned to winning ways in superb style at York on 24 August when sweeping home to land the G3 Strensall Stakes.

Settled off the pace under Frankie Dettori, the race looked wide open entering the final furlong but the Godolphin colt quickened impressively and took the nine-furlong contest by a length and a quarter.

This was his second victory at this level, having also won the Killavullan Stakes at Leopardstown as a juvenile.

Dubai Prince becomes the 13th Black type winner for Shamardal so far this year; an impressive group headed by G1-winning duo Sagawara and Crackerjack King, plus fellow Group winners All Shamaar, Amaron and No Evidence Needed.
